The insurgents attacked a police training school in Gwoza, Borno
According to reports, 35 policemen have gone missing after a Boko
Haram attack on a police training college in the Gwoza area of Borno.
The militants attacked the facility on August 20 and are said to have
taken over.
A statement issued by the police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu reads:
"The search and rescue party launched immediately has located and
brought to safety all Police officers in the Training College at the
time of attack,"
"So far, thirty-five policemen who are still missing from the facility
as a result of the latest attack are being searched for with very
promising prospect of locating them."
Gwoza has been continually bombarded by the insurgents who have killed
many of its residents and even dethroned the Emir.
